Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, American Idol had to rethink how to execute the remainder of its season.On tonight’s groundbreaking episode we saw something that has never been done before, the Top 20 contestants performed remotely from each of their homes. Ryan Seacrest hosted the show from his house, and the judges gave their critiques from their living rooms.

This innovative, never before seen format highlighted many of the Idol hopeful’s talents, but unfortunately the remote filming did not showcase others’ voices as well.

America’s votes on tonight’s performances will decide the Top 10 contestants, which will be revealed next week.
