Aileen: Queen Of The Serial Killers Coming To Netflix

Aileen: Queen of the Serial Killers arrives on Netflix October 30, revisiting the life, crimes, and execution of Aileen Wuornos through rare interviews and archival footage.

Netflix is set to deliver a chilling new true-crime feature this fall with the release of Aileen: Queen of the Serial Killers, premiering October 30, 2025. The documentary revisits the notorious story of Aileen Wuornos, whose violent crimes shook the nation and cemented her as one of history’s most infamous female serial killers.

Between 1989 and 1990, Wuornos murdered seven men across central Florida, a killing spree that ultimately led to her arrest and later conviction. She was sentenced to death and executed in 2002, but her life — filled with tragedy, violence, and complexity — continues to demand reexamination through a modern lens.

Directed by Emily Turner, the Netflix feature draws on rare and powerful material to explore Wuornos’s world. It includes remarkable archival footage featuring former Dateline correspondent Michele Gillen as well as never-before-seen death row interviews with Wuornos herself. Through these recordings and audio interviews with those who knew her best, the documentary presents Wuornos’s story in her own voice, offering new context into what happened and why.

The project is produced by BBC Studios Documentary Unit and NBC News Studios, with Kirsty Cunningham serving as executive producer alongside Liz Cole, Elizabeth Fischer, and Andy Berg. Editors Jinx Godfrey and Daniel Lapira shape the documentary’s tense and haunting narrative.

Aileen: Queen of the Serial Killers promises to go beyond the headlines that once dominated national news to deliver a deeper, more human examination of a woman whose actions and legacy remain both horrifying and tragic.

The feature documentary begins streaming exclusively on Netflix on October 30.
