6 of Our Favorite Rollins and Carisi Moments in ‘Law and Order: SVU!’

Let’s take a look at some of our favorite Rollins and Carisi moments, from Law and Order: SVU, that made fans ship them as a couple!

One part of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit that fans love is the evolution of the relationships between the detectives. Ever since Detective Dominick Carisi (Peter Scanavino) joined the squad in season 16, he and Detective Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) have shared some special moments that definitely foreshadowed and incoming relationship between the two. Let’s take a look at 6 of our favorite “Rollisi” moments!

Carisi Soothes Jesse

We learn early on that Carisi is a family-oriented guy, often talking about his relatives and childhood, making him pretty natural with children. In Season 17, Episode 10, “Catfishing Teacher”, Rollins had recently given birth to her first child, Jesse and Carisi was still relatively new to the detective squad. They went for lunch and Jesse started crying, so Carisi was able to calm her, while Rollins looked at him in shock.

Rollins Opens Up to Carisi

During Season 20, Episode 2, “Man Down”, the detectives investigate the sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy who was a victim to his own father. The boy was so traumatized that he went and committed a school shooting. The episode gets very deep, and it wears on Rollins emotionally. There was a moment between her and Carisi where Rollins states how much she worries about her own kids after consistently seeing these awful experiences everyday. While I think she would feel comfortable getting emotional in front of any of the detectives, Carisi and her clearly have a bond, making her feel she can be more transparent.

Going into Labor

Season 20 Episode 13, “A Story of More Woe” deals with the murder of a father that was reported by his teen daughters, having many inconsistent details of what happened. In the midst of their investigation, Rollins goes into labor with her second child, Billie. Naturally, Carisi was there every step of the way. He drove her to the hospital and stayed the entire time, even when Rollins rejected a proposal from her then boyfriend Dr. Al Pollack, who was also the father of her second child. Carisi continued to be supportive and stayed until the moment Billie was born.

Elevator Scene

Diving into Season 21 Episode 10 “Must Be Held Accountable”, the detectives are working on an ongoing investigation of Steve Getz, who is responsible for grooming young girls who aspire to achieve a modeling career. The two victims happen to be duaghters of Detective Frank Bucci, who gets easily frustrated with the handling of the case, and puts extreme pressure on SVU. When Getz gets off easy, Bucci goes into a spiral and holds Rollins hostage. Luckily, the detectives brought her to safety, but Rollins was extremely traumatized. There was a scene in the elevator where Rollins breaks down and Carisi comforts her. Even though at this point Carisi is now an Assitant District Attorney and no longer in the SVU squad, he and Rollins still have a bond.

Rollins Checks-In on Carisi

Season 21 Episode 20 “The Things We Have to Lose” is set during the long, ongoing case of Tobias Moore, a serial rapist and abuser with all the power and money to silence his victims. Newly an Assitant District Attorney, Carisi is assigned to take the case in court and feels the pressure. There are many holes, minimal testifying witnesses, and other setbacks that increase Carisi’s stress. At the end of a long court day, Rollins stops in Carisi’s office to check in to make sure he is okay and offered to go out for a drink. While he declined, Carisi definitely appreciated Rollins gesture.

Their First Kiss

During the Season 22 Finale, “Wolves In Sheep’s Clothing”, Finn Tutuola and his fiancé Phoebe Baker, who were each other’s first partners, get married. All while the detectives help a homeless single mother who has been trafficked in exchange for safe housing. At the wedding, Carisi reads Rollins a speech he had planned to give, talking about how the relationship between partners was similar to marriage. Rollins got emotional and finally realized that the same was for her and Carisi. She initiates a kiss between them, and they become a couple.
