5 Of The Most Loved Couples On ‘Grey’s Anatomy’!

If there is one thing Grey’s Anatomy has had a plethora of over the years, it is romances! Here are the best love stories!

Meredith and Derek

Oh, Meredith and Derek. Where do we begin? One of the greatest love stories on the show, a love story that will last forever. They were a power couple alright, both super talented at being surgeons, kind, considerate, and nurturing to each other. They were inseparable, and even after Derek died in the series, the couple continues to forever linger as one of the most iconic. They were able to have three incredibly beautiful children together, happily married, and the long distance couldn’t even tear them apart. Moments they shared had so much meaning that the whole Grey’s Anatomy fandom was in awe of the couple; the post had a significant role on the couple because no matter what, if they were arguing or whatever was going on, if one of them called “post-it”, the argument would stop because it is a reminder of how in love they are with each other and because that was pretty much how they got married. The post-it stood as a common ground– “Love each other even when we hate each other. No running. Take care when old, senile, and smelly. And it’s forever,” with their signatures signed at the bottom.

Lexie and Mark

No matter who they were with, they were always drawn back to each other. Mark Sloan as we all know is a little bit of a player. Okay… maybe a lot a bit. Butttt, Lexie made us see what Sloan is like when he is really in love. There are moments between the couple that make us watch and empathize with them. For example, in Season 8, Episode 22 Lexie gives a speech to Mark about how no matter how happy she is in another relationship, she still wants Mark. Another episode that completely breaks your heart is when Lexie passes away in the plane crash. Mark says to her right before she dies, “So you can’t die, okay? You can’t die. Because we’re supposed to end up together. We’re meant to be.” With Mark dying shortly after, the two will forever be together.

Alex and Jo

This relationship hit a soft spot for a lot of us. The moments the couple shared were complicated at times, but they were their own. When they were first becoming a thing, Jo went to Karev for comfort. Given Jo’s history with men and that her ex-husband was extremely abusive, she opened up to Karev like no other. Although the couple had their ups and downs, they were supportive of each other, and Karev made it very known that he wanted to marry Jo. He proposed to her more than once; even when he didn’t know the reason for her not accepting the proposal was because she was still married. They might have not got the ending they deserved but even so, they still make the list!

April and Jackson

Friends turned into lovers– what a classic. April Kepner and Jackson Avery were good friends and quickly became much more than that. As we know, April’s character was very religious, and she wanted to stay a virgin until marriage. Then Jackson came along. This couple gave us a rollercoaster of emotions. They went through living together, break ups, getting married, to divorced, and having children. There was even a point in time when April was going to get married to someone else and asked Avery to give her a reason to back out. Their beliefs differed at times, but the love they had for each other was strong. Regardless of it all, they knew each other like the back of their hand. Recently, E! News reported that “Japril” has been nominated for “Favorite Couple” at the TV Scoop Awards.

Arizona and Callie

Arizona Robbins and Callie Torres were an extraordinary couple. Fans were beside themselves when they split up because this is a couple that everyone was always rooting for. A fan shared on Twitter how they would love for the couple to return this upcoming season – “Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins stepping into the hospital holding hands in Grey’s Anatomy season 19 wouldn’t just be a movement it would be MONUMENTAL.” This is a couple you just can’t get enough of! They are the cutest individuals, and even cuter together! Their love is extremely shown throughout the seasons, but especially when Callie helps Arizona after her leg was amputated. The best couples have moments where they accept the parts of their partner they have a hard time dealing with; that’s what Arizona and Callie had.
