National Sandwich Day has arrived and oh do we have some sandwiches that you can be munching on to celebrate! During the pandemic, Amanda Yee took it upon herself to create over one-hundred recipes inspired by the beloved TV show Friends. In this cookbook, you are guaranteed to be thrown back into the nineties with recipes that even feature what season and episode they originated from. See below what famous sandwiches you should be making on National Sandwich Day with Friends: The Official Cookbook.

Rachel’s Lobster With a Side of Lobster Roll

For all our New Englanders out there Rachel’s Lobster With a Side of Lobster Roll is the perfect sandwich that you can enjoy on this national holiday. The recipe is inspired by Phoebe’s most famous line “She’s Your Lobster”. If you want to reminisce and go back to the scene that brought this sandwich to life, you can watch Season 2, Episode 14 “The One With the Prom Video”.

To make this famous dish all you need is three pounds of large lobster claws, lemon juice and zest, mayonnaise, fresh tarragon, chives, Old Bay seasoning, salt and pepper, butter, and last but not least, sweet Hawaiian or brioche hot dog rolls to bring this seafood classic together.

Make sure to make this sandwich for yourself and your “lobster” at home to celebrate.

RECIPE:

3 pounds of large lobster claws thawed if frozen, zest and juice 1 small lemon, ½ cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons diced fresh tarragon, ½ cup of chives, 2 tablespoons of Old Bay seasoning or dry rub seasoning for seafood, salt and pepper, sweet Hawaiian rolls or brioche hotdog buns, butter.

If I were Ross, I would be also mad if someone ate my leftover sandwich. The Moist Maker made its famous debut on Season 5, Episode 9 “The One With Ross’s Sandwich”. In the episode, Ross delves into how Monica makes the best leftover Thanksgiving turkey sandwich. When she makes one for Ross to bring to work his coworker ends up eating the sandwich. Later on in the episode, Ross’s “coworker” ends up being his boss who then puts him on sabbatical and sends him to a psychiatrist for anger management therapy.

Although Thanksgiving comes after national sandwich day, this is still the perfect sandwich to prepare you for what you will be indulging in just a few weeks! To make this Thanksgiving day leftover delight all you need is sandwich bread, mayonnaise, romaine lettuce, leftover turkey or deli-turkey slices, cornbread stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce.

Many on Tik Tok have also taken this sandwich and have recreated it in their own way, but always stick to the original recipe.

RECIPE:

3 slices of bread, mayonnaise (optional), 2 pieces of romaine lettuce, ½ cup of leftover turkey or deli-style turkey slices, ¼ cup leftover cornbread stuffing, ¼ cup of leftover or store-bought gravy, ¼ cup of canned cranberry sauce, salt and pepper.

Make sure you dip that middle piece of bread in the grave to keep your sandwich extra moist!

When Joey, Ross, and Chandler go out for a “ride-along” with Phoebe’s boyfriend who is a cop; the three believe they are being shot.
