Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s Daughter Comes Out as Queer

Gracie McGraw is celebrating Pride Month by proudly coming out as queer on social media, with support from parents Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

Gracie McGraw, the eldest daughter of country superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, is celebrating Pride Month in a big way — by publicly embracing her identity and proudly coming out as queer.

In a recent Instagram story, the 28-year-old re-posted a bold graphic from activist Adam Eli that read, “EVERYONE GET MORE GAY NOW!” Gracie added her own enthusiastic message: “Happy freaking Pride. I love being queer.”

Gracie also shared a post by drag performer Marti Gould Cummings that highlighted the activist roots of Pride, reading, “Pride began as a riot led by Black and Brown trans activists.” Cummings’ caption further emphasized the need for continued advocacy: “Protect trans people – Pride was and is a riot and protest against the patriarchal norms that hold us back!”

This marks what appears to be the first time Gracie has publicly identified as queer. While she’s long been an outspoken advocate and ally for LGBTQ+ rights, fans and media alike couldn’t find any previous statement in which she openly discussed her identity.

While her parents — both music icons — tend to keep politically charged matters private, they’ve consistently demonstrated unwavering support for their daughters. Earlier this year, Gracie made her Carnegie Hall debut, performing in The Great War & The Great Gatsby, a PBS special airing for Veterans Day. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill were proudly in the audience, cheering her on as she graced one of the world’s most prestigious stages.

In a heartfelt birthday post for Gracie’s 28th on May 5, Tim McGraw shared a sweet throwback photo and wrote: “Can’t believe this little bit turns 28 today! … So much heart, soul, respect and yes LOADS of talent!!!” He added, “Know that you are loved beyond measure! I love you, my little girl.”

Tim McGraw has also publicly praised his wife, Faith Hill, crediting her with being the ultimate role model for their three daughters. In a September 2024 birthday post, he wrote, “Our girls could not have a better role model in their lives… Let’s honor the women in our lives with respect and make sure that we fight for their rights right alongside them!”

Faith Hill herself has a history of LGBTQ+ support, having stood by country artist Chely Wright when she came out in 2010 — a rare and courageous act at the time in the country music world.

Alongside Gracie, the McGraw-Hill family includes 26-year-old Maggie, and 23-year-old Audrey, who recently released her debut album and will be touring this summer with Brandi Carlile.

Gracie’s post this Pride Month is more than just a celebration — it’s a joyful declaration of self, backed by a family known for standing by each other with love and pride.
