Prime Video has just dropped the official trailer for The Runarounds, an original music drama series set to premiere Monday, September 1, 2025. From the creators of Outer Banks, the eight-episode series will launch exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The trailer highlights the band’s original song “Funny How The Universe Works,” offering fans a first listen to the heartfelt anthem that sets the tone for the show’s emotional and energetic vibe. The single, along with another original track “Senior Year,” is now available on all major music platforms. Both songs are part of the series’ official soundtrack, which will be released by Arista Records on the same day the series premieres. “Senior Year” holds special meaning, as it marks the first song written and recorded by the real-life band featured in the show.

The Runarounds tells the story of a group of freshly graduated high schoolers from Wilmington, North Carolina, who spend the summer chasing their dreams of rock stardom. Fueled by their passion for music, the friends dive headfirst into a season of ambition, romance, mischief, and unforgettable memories. As they form deep bonds and face the unpredictable twists of young adulthood, their shared dream pushes them to take big risks and embrace the thrill of the unknown.

The cast includes real-life musicians William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher, who bring authenticity to the band’s dynamic. They’re joined by Lilah Pate, Maximo Salas, Kelley Pereira, Marley Aliah, Mark Wystrach, Brooklyn Decker, Hayes MacArthur, and Shea Pritchard.

Behind the scenes, The Runarounds boasts a strong team of executive producers: Jonas Pate, Joon Yun, David Wilcox, Josh Pate, Shannon Burke, Scott Lambert, and Lisa Mae Fincannon, alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Skydance Television.

With its blend of original music, heartfelt storytelling, and youthful energy, The Runarounds is shaping up to be the soundtrack of the summer—and the show to watch.
