Prime Video’s Surf Girls: International returns July 17 with five global surfers chasing World Tour dreams and making waves in Season 2.
The streaming platform announced that Surf Girls: International will premiere July 17, with all five episodes of the new season dropping exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. The announcement was accompanied by the release of the official trailer and key art for the five-part docuseries, produced by Hello Sunshine and TOGETHXR.
Surf Girls: International follows a dynamic group of young, up-and-coming female surfers from around the world as they compete in the Challenger Series—the final step before qualifying for the elite World Surf Tour. Season 2 promises an inspiring and emotional ride, blending intense athletic competition with personal growth and the pressures of being under the global spotlight.
Returning this season is Ewe Wong, a native Hawaiian and breakout star from Season 1, alongside Sophia Medina of Brazil, who continues to blaze a trail in her family’s storied surfing legacy. The series also introduces Kika Veselko, a driven force from Portugal, Jessie Van Niekerk from South Africa, whose family gave up everything for her dream, and 2024 Olympian Sol Aguirre of Peru, as she hones her mental game while chasing greatness.
These five surfers not only battle the waves but also face their own inner challenges, all while representing their nations on the world stage. Their journey toward claiming a spot on the World Surf Tour is filled with grit, heartbreak, friendship, and resilience.
The series is executive produced by Reese Witherspoon, Sara Rea, Sue Kinkead, and Tyler O’Neil for Hello Sunshine; Jessica Robertson, Tina Tozzi, and Brett Bouttier for TOGETHXR; along with Ryan Crosby and Jed Pearson IV from the World Surf League. Monica Medellin and Leslie Garvin also serve as executive producers, with Garvin acting as showrunner.
With empowering storytelling and stunning visuals, Surf Girls: International continues to spotlight the next generation of global surf talent—and this season is poised to deliver even more heart and heroism.
