Netflix debuts the trailer for Stolen: Heist of the Century, the jaw-dropping true crime documentary about the world’s most legendary diamond robbery.
Netflix is pulling back the curtain on one of the most audacious crimes in history with the upcoming release of Stolen: Heist of the Century, and the newly debuted trailer promises a gripping deep dive into the world’s most legendary diamond robbery. The true-crime documentary will premiere globally on August 8, 2025.
From RAW, the creators behind The Tinder Swindler, American Nightmare and Don’t F**k With Cats, and in association with Amblin Documentaries (Big Vape: The Rise and Fall of Juul) and Wildside, Stolen: Heist of the Century unravels the real-life story of the 2003 Antwerp diamond heist — a meticulously planned, late-night robbery that stunned law enforcement and rocked the diamond capital of the world.
On the morning of February 17, 2003, Belgium’s elite ‘Diamond Squad’ of detectives were summoned to a crime scene unlike any they’d ever encountered: a heavily fortified vault in the heart of Antwerp had been emptied in the dead of night. Its contents? Estimated to be worth anywhere between $100 million and $500 million in diamonds. The heist remains one of the largest and most mysterious thefts in modern history — and the loot has never been recovered.
For the first time, Stolen brings together the original Antwerp detectives who solved the case and the alleged criminal mastermind himself, offering a front-row seat to the intricate planning, shocking execution, and enduring mystery of what became known as “The Heist of the Century.”
The masterminds behind the operation were an elite group of Italian jewel thieves, famously referred to as The School of Turin — a name now etched into true-crime lore. After more than two decades, the documentary promises to reveal how this sophisticated crew bypassed high-tech security, cracked the uncrackable vault, and vanished into the night with a fortune that remains hidden.
The film is written and directed by Mark Lewis, the mind behind Don’t F**k With Cats and Vatican Girl, and is based on the book Flawless by Scott Andrew Selby and Greg Campbell. With Lewis at the helm, viewers can expect a meticulously detailed, cinematic retelling of one of the most mind-blowing capers ever pulled off — filled with real testimonies, jaw-dropping twists, and never-before-seen insights into how the crime unfolded.
Stolen: Heist of the Century premieres August 8 on Netflix.
