Netflix has released the main trailer for The Monster of Florence, a gripping true crime series exploring Italy’s most infamous serial killer case.
Netflix has dropped the main trailer for its chilling new series The Monster of Florence, set to premiere exclusively on the streamer on October 22, 2025.
The series recounts one of Italy’s longest and most complex criminal investigations, centering on a string of eight double murders carried out over 17 years. The crimes, all linked by the use of the same weapon—a .22 caliber Beretta—shook the country and cemented the case as one of the most notorious in Italian history.
The Monster of Florence draws from ongoing legal proceedings and decades of investigation, offering a unique perspective on the suspects who came under scrutiny over the years. Rather than portraying a single definitive killer, the story explores the many “possible monsters,” telling the tale from their points of view. As the series ominously suggests, the monster could, in the end, be anyone.
The project is directed by Stefano Sollima, with Sollima also serving as co-creator alongside Leonardo Fasoli. The producers include Lorenzo Mieli, Sollima, and Gina Gardini. The Apartment, a Fremantle company, and AlterEgo are behind the production.
The cast features Marco Bullitta, Valentino Mannias, Francesca Olia, Liliana Bottone, Giacomo Fadda, Antonio Tintis, and Giordano Mannu. With its haunting subject matter and grounded perspective, the series aims to capture both the brutality of the crimes and the uncertainty of the investigation that haunted Italy for decades.
The Monster of Florence arrives October 22, 2025, only on Netflix.
