Netflix is releasing Las Muertas on September 10, 2025, a gripping series based on Jorge Ibargüengoitia’s novel about Mexico’s most feared sisters.
Netflix has unveiled the main trailer for Las Muertas, the highly anticipated series arriving September 10, 2025.
Based on Jorge Ibargüengoitia’s novel of the same name, the series tells the fictionalized story of sisters Arcángela and Serafina Baladro, who rose to power in 1960s Mexico. What began as an empire of brothels soon descended into infamy, as the sisters cemented themselves as two of the most ruthless and feared serial killers in the nation’s history.
The project brings together some of Mexico’s top creative talent. Las Muertas is directed by Luis Estrada, who also co-wrote the adaptation with Jaime Sampietro, alongside collaborator Rodrigo Santos. Estrada is also producing the series with Sandra Solares under the banners of Bandidos Films and Jaibol Films.
