Meet The Singers On Building The Band

Meet the 45 rising stars competing on Building the Band, the new chemistry-based singing competition hosted by AJ McLean with Nicole Scherzinger as judge.

Premiering July 9, Building the Band takes the singing competition format to an exciting new level by putting the power in the hands of the contestants. Forty-five emerging vocalists will team up to form bands based solely on musical chemistry—without ever laying eyes on one another.

In a twist that sets this series apart, each singer enters a “booth” and listens to the voices of their potential bandmates, making choices based only on connection, vocal talent, and vibe. Looks, choreography, and style won’t come into play until after the bands are formed. The result? Raw musical talent meets blind selection in a journey that promises vocal fireworks and high-stakes drama.

The show will be hosted by AJ McLean, a founding member of the Backstreet Boys, while pop powerhouse Nicole Scherzinger (The Pussycat Dolls) joins as a full-time mentor and judge. Beginning with episode seven, she’ll be joined by guest judges Kelly Rowland (Destiny’s Child) and the late Liam Payne (One Direction), both of whom bring real-life band experience and global star power to the series.

The competition kicks off with four episodes on July 9, followed by a three-episode drop on July 16, and the final three on July 23, rounding out a tight 10-episode arc packed with performances, tough choices, and surprising alliances.
