Lupin Season 4 Begins Filming With Omar Sy In Paris

Lupin returns as Omar Sy begins filming season 4 in Paris with new directors, fresh energy from Carrousel Studios, and high expectations.

The gentleman thief is back on the streets of Paris. Lupin, the global Netflix sensation, has officially started production on Part 4, and fans around the world can rejoice—Omar Sy has returned to reprise his iconic role as Assane Diop, the clever and charming master of disguise.

After breaking records with its first three parts, Lupin has firmly cemented its place as one of the most popular non-English series in Netflix history. In fact, all three previous installments have landed in the streamer’s all-time Top 10 list—holding the third, sixth, and tenth spots—proving the enduring appeal of this modern-day twist on the classic Arsène Lupin stories by Maurice Leblanc.

Set once again against the stunning and cinematic backdrop of Paris, Part 4 promises even more plot twists, suspense, and daring heists. The series continues to evolve, this time with new creative forces and production partners fueling its latest chapter. Produced by Gaumont in collaboration with Carrousel Studios, the next installment brings a revitalized energy that aligns perfectly with the show’s ambitious vision.

“I often say that Lupin is an extraordinary plaything,” said Sy. “I find great joy in it every time. Together with Netflix, Carrousel, and Gaumont, we’ve invested the time needed to raise our ambitions and deliver even more surprises and enjoyment, both for us and the audience. The fresh energy from Carrousel Studios aligns perfectly with this vision. I’m eager to share the new episodes with as many people as possible.”

The upcoming season will feature eight 45-minute episodes, directed by Edouard Salier, Everardo Gout, and Hugo Gélin. Showrunners for Part 4 include Omar Sy and Louis Leterrier, with writing contributions from Mathilde Arnaud, Jean-Yves Arnaud, Florent Meyer, Tigran Rosine, and Pennda Ba. The creative team also includes series creators George Kay and François Uzan, with the participation of Marie Roussin, Florent Meyer, and Tigran Rosine.

The returning cast boasts familiar faces, including Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, Shirine Boutella, Théo Christine, and Laïka Blanc-Francard, all set to bring even more depth and intrigue to the already beloved series.

With production now underway in the heart of Paris, Lupin fans can expect a new wave of thrilling adventures, emotional reveals, and jaw-dropping sleight of hand. The game is back on, and Assane Diop is ready to outsmart once again.
