Katrina: Come Hell And High Water Trailer Released

Spike Lee’s Katrina: Come Hell and High Water trailer debuts as the series revisits New Orleans 20 years after the devastating storm.

The official trailer for Katrina: Come Hell and High Water has arrived, offering a powerful first look at a series that examines one of America’s most devastating natural and man-made disasters. The three-part documentary event premieres August 27, 2025, and sheds new light on Hurricane Katrina and its lasting impact two decades later.

From showrunner and producer Alisa Payne, the series is directed by Geeta Gandbhir (episode 101), Samantha Knowles (episode 102), and Academy Award–winning filmmaker Spike Lee (episode 103). Executive producers include Spike Lee, Sam Pollard, and Geeta Gandbhir, whose combined work promises an unflinching, emotional, and deeply human exploration of the storm and its aftermath.

Katrina: Come Hell and High Water tells the story of how a brutal coastal hurricane became a catastrophic tragedy through human error and systemic neglect. Featuring harrowing first-person accounts and never-before-seen archival footage, the series revisits the magnitude of Katrina, the collapse of the levees, and the failed recovery effort that left New Orleans vulnerable and changed forever.

The documentary goes beyond recounting tragedy—it also highlights resilience. Survivors share their past experiences, reflect on their present lives, and look toward the future of a city that continues to fight for recognition, justice, and renewal 20 years after the storm.

From executive producer Spike Lee and the award-winning team behind The Perfect Neighbor, the series places viewers at the center of the chaos, revealing how the storm still reverberates in the culture and soul of New Orleans.

Katrina: Come Hell and High Water premieres August 27, 2025.
