John Slattery, Jessica Henwick, Ellen Robertson and more join Netflix’s Vladimir, starring Rachel Weisz and directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini.
Netflix’s new limited series Vladimir is rounding out its cast with a fresh slate of high-profile talent. John Slattery, Jessica Henwick, and Ellen Robertson are among the latest names to join the eight-episode drama based on Julia May Jonas’s acclaimed novel of the same name.
The series, which is produced by 20th Television, Merman, and Small Dog Picture Company, will star Rachel Weisz, who also serves as an executive producer. Weisz will be joined by Leo Woodall, previously announced in the titular role of Vladimir.
Slattery (Mad Men) takes on the role of John, while Henwick (Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery) will play Cynthia. Robertson (Black Mirror) appears as Sid. They are joined by several newly announced recurring cast members including Kayli Carter (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Lila, Miriam Silverman as Florence, Mallori Johnson as Edwina, Matt Walsh (Veep) as David, Tattiawna Jones as Alexis, and Louise Lambert as Dawn.
Vladimir follows the story of a woman whose life begins to spiral as she becomes dangerously fixated on her charismatic new colleague. Described as a series filled with “sexy secrets, dark humor, and complex characters,” the show delves into the psychological unraveling of a woman set on turning her fantasies into reality.
Directing duties for three episodes, including the pilot, fall to the Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning duo Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, known for their work on Fleishman Is in Trouble and American Splendor. The pair also serve as executive producers.
Additional executive producers include Julia May Jonas, Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg, and Kira Carstensen for Merman (Bad Sisters, Divorce), alongside Jason Winer and Jon Radler for Small Dog Picture Company.
With its star-studded cast, acclaimed source material, and creative team, Vladimir is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most buzzworthy upcoming releases.
