Netflix’s new docuseries Marines takes viewers inside the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit for an emotional and immersive look at life, duty, and brotherhood at sea.
Netflix is giving viewers a rare and intimate glimpse into the lives of America’s “force in readiness” with its upcoming docuseries Marines, premiering November 10, 2025. The four-part series follows members of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), the U.S. military’s forward-deployed unit in the Pacific, known for being the first to respond to crises and conflicts across the region.
Directed by Chelsea Yarnell, Marines is a coming-of-age documentary series that explores the human stories behind the uniforms. Through unprecedented access to the U.S. Marine Corps, the series captures the intensity, discipline, and emotional complexity of life on the open sea — where young Marines undergo rigorous training, face personal challenges, and form unbreakable bonds with their fellow service members.
Produced by Amblin Entertainment Documentaries and Lucky8, Marines brings together an acclaimed team of executive producers, including Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Sebastian Junger, Kimberly Woodard, Greg Henry, Isaac Holub, and George Kralovansky. The project is also supported by co-executive producers Katie Goldstein and Arielle Kilker.
Each of the four 45-minute episodes offers a cinematic and emotionally charged look into the experiences of those serving aboard the MEU — from the physical demands of military life to the quiet moments of reflection that define their journey.
With its authentic storytelling and powerful visuals, Marines shines a light on the dedication and resilience of a new generation of service members learning what it truly means to serve, sacrifice, and grow together at sea.
Marines premieres November 10, 2025, only on Netflix.
