WWE star and former AfterBuzz TV host Sonya Deville is safe after she says a stalker broke into her home in Florida.

Police say early Sunday, 24-year-old Phillip A. Thomas II, broke into her home holding a knife, pepper spray, plastic zip ties, and duct tape.

Deville, whose real name is Daria Berenato knew something was wrong when her security alarm went off. Moments later she would come face to face with her stalker.

“That is when I realized this person was not here to rob me, he was there to hurt me,” said Deville In a court petition seeking protection from Thomas.

Deville said she ran away, and Thomas followed, but thankfully he lost her, and thought she went into another room.

WWE Star Mandy Rose was staying with Deville during the break in. Deville says she ran to Mandy’s room to wake her up, and they both escaped.

Thomas was still at the house when police arrived. After his arrest police say Thomas admitted to driving from South Carolina to Deville’s home where he cut a hole into her patio screen.

He later admitted that his plan was to hold Deville hostage until she answered all of his questions.

After learning Thomas’ name from authorities, Deville found thousands of messages from him on Instagram, which dated back to March of 2019. One of the messages said “I found your home address.”

That same day Sonya tweeted to her fans that both her and Mandy were safe, and thanked the authorities for helping her during the ordeal.

Thank you everyone for your love and concern. A very frightening experience but thankfully everyone is safe. A special thank you to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for their response and assistance.” Said Deville.

Thomas was charged with armed kidnapping, aggravated stalking and armed burglary of a dwelling, all felonies, and criminal mischief.

A hearing is scheduled for Thursday in order to prevent Thomas from being released on bail.
