This week amidst concerns about the corona virus we noticed some of our favorite celebrities had the internet buzzing with their acts of charity. We’ve been tracking across all social media platforms and have compiled the top 5 celebrities when it comes to helping others during these trying times.

Coming in at number 5 with over 135,000 likes across all social media platforms, are the Golden State’s own, Steph and Ayesha Curry. With Oakland’s schools being closed for weeks, the couple was concerned about school children getting lunch, so the couple teamed up their non profit, Eat. Learn. Play., with The Oakland School District and a local food back to give one million meals to hungry children. https://www.instagram.com/p/B9snewonai8/

Our number four spot proves that giving can be a family affair and it’s never too young to teach kids the importance of caring for others in need. Famous mom Kristen Bell and her 5 and 6 year old daughters donated $100,007.96 to No Child Hungry. Bell who has been posting thank yous to emergency personnel for their service during this difficult time and advising followers on how to be more mindful of those on food assistance has amassed over 3 million likes overall for her covid-19 coverage. https://www.instagram.com/p/B94_UDLpdaE/

And a rookie shall lead them? Apparently! With over 1.3 million likes, retweets and reposts Zion Williamson is proving to be a leader as a 19 year old rookie. The New Orleans Pelicans player wanted to help the many arena employees left without income, so he pledged to cover all of their salaries for a full month. He says he was inspired by the example of his mom! Sounds like she raised him right. https://www.instagram.com/p/B9sFV-nFTRG/

Next up is NFL and R&B power couple Ciara and Russel Wilson who’s donation of one million meals to Seattle Food Lifeline has Instagram followers as well as Twitter peeps hitting hearts with over 2 million likes on Instagram and nearly 400,000 on Twitter. https://www.instagram.com/p/B92xv75Hdw4/

And lastly, Hollywood royalty, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have garnered over nearly 4 million supporters across all platforms for their donation of 1 million meals to Food Bank Canada and Feeding America! https://www.instagram.com/p/B90AS5Cp5QB/

I guess this goes to prove that in difficult times looking to those who are helping others can be a source of relief, hope and maybe even inspiration.
