Last week, food columnist Alison Roman made some very contentious comments about Chrissy’s career. Looking at it with disdain, Alison told the New Consumer, “What Chrissy Teigen has done is so crazy to me. She had a successful cookbook. And then it was like: Boom, line at Target. Boom, now she has an Instagram page that has over a million followers where it’s just, like, people running a content farm for her. That horrifies me and it’s not something that I ever want to do. I don’t aspire to that.”

Chrissy responded to Alison’s criticism on twitter saying how the news deeply affected her.

Later, readers took note of Alison’s remarks and questioned why this successful white woman was attacking two Asian women (Marie Kondo of Netflix’s Tidying Up was also called out by Alison in the article) whose presence is already a rarity in the food & lifestyle world?

Alison later apologized to Chrissy & Marie acknowledging her white privilege as well as her own insecurities.

Interestingly enough, that was only one of the twitter battles Chrissy fought this week. On Monday a twitter user accused Chrissy of stealing a banana bread recipe she used in her 2018 Cravings cookbook.

“You can’t cook or not copy someone’s idea from their cookbook! It’s copying even tho you changed one thing! Come up with your own sh*t! Ya f**ing bum!” A twitter user stated, continuing, “Chef Mike saw your s**t and might file a suit! I just saw you review and he called me! Stick with your Phillipino s**t.”

Chrissy replied to the tasteless tweet saying:

We admire Chrissy’s strength in standing up for herself and not letting the haters drag her down.

On a happier note, Chrissy celebrated her fourth Mother’s Day on Sunday surrounded by her loving family. John even made a special dinner for her straight from her own cookbook. Also, she partnered with baby2baby (an organization that provides children living in poverty with diapers, clothing and necessaries) along with other celeb moms to celebrate & raise money for mothers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chrissy is a mother, a wife, an incredible cook and an inspiration to many. We appreciate her for always being true to herself and not letting the haters get the best of her. We look forward to more Cravings recipes, more awesome cookware and more Chrissy.
