The summer is coming to an end, and with it brings a new school year. Podcasting is a great form of entertainment for students who will be entering their first year of college, their last year of college, or the two years in between!

Here are the top six podcasts we think college students should check out – either for advice, new tips and tricks, or episodes to binge. This short list has a little bit of everything for students who aren’t quite sure what they want to delve into first!

Career Talk: Learn – Grow – Thrive

This podcast brings more to the table than just professional advice. For college students who are anxious to get their foot in the door and start taking the steps to success seriously, this podcast breaks down what you need to know and how to achieve your goals. Host Stephanie Dennis does a great job of making this professional podcast seem casual – all while pinpointing important parts of your life and career and how to continue to grow within them. College students won’t get bored with this advice and the funny banter that comes along with it. Whether you’re looking for what to put on your resume or side gigs to make extra money, this podcast is the one for you!

Stuff Mom Never Told You

This podcast focuses on feminism and what it is like to identify as a female in this day and age. Through deep conversations between hosts Anney and Samantha, this podcast brings to life research and discussions you haven’t had the chance to delve into before. This podcast is educational and entertaining as the hosts guide you with small history lessons and how the world is changing but still has a long way to go! For college females and others who wish to understand more, this podcast gives both the knowledge and understanding to educate yourself and the world around you!

My Favorite Murder

For all true crime fans out there, this podcast covers everything from well-known murder cases to smaller ones you may not know. Hosted by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, the two share their favorite “murder story” during each episode, complete with questions and commentary from the other. Each story from the episodes are sent in by fans and listeners while the hosts do further research to air each one. Right now, the hosts are taking a short break but episodes are still being uploaded with guest picks who are continuing the podcast until the original two return. For college students who love true crime documentaries and want to get into a new platform – give this one a try!

Gals On The Go

One of the most perfect podcasts for college students… by those with similar stories and experiences! This podcast is hosted by full-time college student Danielle Carolan and Brooke Miccio, a recent post-grad exploring life in a new city. This podcast is both entertaining, inspiring, and educational. The hosts talk about personal experiences, advice, fun stories between friends, and how to bounce back when something in life goes wrong. For college students who have the rest of their lives to look forward to, this podcast provides a sense of relatability that can both help in the future and guide you to laugh at the past.

The DemAWKcracy Podcast

This podcast is on the newer side and might have a smaller following than the rest on the list, but this comes at a time where we need its information! Two small town friends, Ronak and Lana, reconnected to create a podcast that serves to further a mission of engaging in difficult conversations and educating each other. This podcast stands out because its sole purpose is to take conversations and experiences that could be awkward, and help crush the divide between ways of thinking. For college students, this podcast is highly educational, relatable, and entertaining from the way the hosts interact with each other. Right now this podcast only has 7 episodes, but as the hard conversations continue, this is definitely one to start paying attention to!
