The Real Housewives of New York City #RHONY is returning July 2nd, after taking a month long hiatus from airing new episodes. The Real Housewives of New York, along with the Beverly Hills Housewives, went on a brief hiatus in the midst of their seasons due to Bravo’s taping schedule. Bravo has been behind in production due to COVID-19 and has been unable to film other shows, so to keep the content fresh and new, bravo postponed airing the new episodes of #RHONY. BUT, good news, the New York ladies are coming back to our screens next week! With all the taglines and no Tinsley Mortimer.

For those who don’t know, Tinsley said her goodbyes to the franchise right before Bravo took a pause on airing the current season of RHONY. Tinsley left the show mid season to move to Chicago to be with her now fiancee, Scott Kluth. Since Tinsley’s departure from the show and with RHONY returning, Bravo made a new intro song with the remaining five ladies: Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps, Dorina Medley and Leah McSweeny. Along with the new intro, came new taglines – and I am living for them! My favorite is Leahs, “I’ll say sorry for what I’ve done, but not for who I am.” I may be a little biased, because Leah is my favorite on the show, but either way, Leah keeps it 100 and I like that about her.

The other ladies had great ones as well. Luann referred to the lower level in her’s, which has to do with when Ramona put Luann in the basement of her Hamptons house earlier in the season. Ramona talks about being ‘self involved’ in her tagline, which is very on brand for her considering it’s Ramona. No further comment. Sonja (known as the funny one in the group), her tagline is: “I’m no one’s arm candy, I’m the whole bowl of sugar,” referring to a couple episodes ago when Ramona dragged along Sonja to her party planning meeting and ignored her the whole time she was there. While Ramona was ignoring Sonja, Sonja was eating literally a whole bowl of candy. And to round it up Dorinda’s tagline was: “Like a mint in my mouth, I can be a little bit fresh.” This makes sense for Dorinda in that she’s been oddly “fresh” and harsh this season compared to previous years.

All of these taglines refer to something that happened during the first half of this season, and I’m here for it. I like that they changed the taglines, because it has been a while since the last episode of this current season aired, and it’s nice to use the taglines as a way to remind us what happened earlier this season. Taglines for Housewives have always been a way for a Housewife to sum up their season in one sentence.

As far as what to expect in the second half of the season, let’s talk about it! I am most curious to see how Leah will hold her own with the rest of the girls, considering Tinsley is the one who introduced them to her not too long ago. Leah is a clear fan favorite this season, and I will be rooting for her, but there is no denying she is the clear odd one out.

Dorinda has been extremely emotional this season after her recent breakup with ex-boyfriend, John Mahdessian. I hope we can see Dorinda resolve her inner demons and better herself, because I miss fun Dorinda.

Luann has been staying out of the drama this season (for the most part), which is new for her. I am excited to see her cabaret show with Sonja, which she has been planning in recent episodes.

Also, I am pumped to see where Sonja’s fashion line goes, as we saw in a previous episode that Century 21 will be selling Sonja’s clothes in stores.

As far as Ramona, she has talked a lot about how she wants to meet a guy, so maybe that’s in the cards for her.

There has also been a lot of drama between Ramona and Dorinda on social media, and also Ramona and Leah. I hope we can see how that plays out and what led those relationships to this point.
