AfterBuzz Loves The Office Weekly

There’s no doubt The Office is one of TV’s best shows- and we’re here to celebrate it…weekly!

The ensemble cast has kept busy since their days on the show. From movies to new series, you’re bound to see their faces in any arena! Best of all, it’s clear that their love for each other went beyond the show- even in the face of quarantine!

John Krasinski’s YouTube series Some Good News made waves with a guest appearance from Michael Gary Scott himself, Steve Carell. This week, SGN had its first prom-themed episode to support high school seniors unable to attend their prom. The star studded event featured Chance the Rapper, Billie Eilish and John’s former Office castmate Rainn Wilson! There was plenty of banter between the two and we hope we can see them reunite on Wilson’s own talk show, Hey There Human! In the meantime, we’re happy to report that Jenna Fischer will be a guest on Hey There Human on April 20th. You can watch his series daily on Soulpancake’s IGTV!

I know, I know- we all would love an actual reunion for The Office, but at least we see the castmates together regularly, right? In addition to her upcoming appearance on Rainn’s show, Jenna Fischer can be heard weekly on her podcast, Office Ladies with fellow office alum Angela Kinsey. The two discuss each episode in the series and provide inside scoop on your favorite scenes. They’re only in season 2, so now’s a good time to catch up during self-quarantine!

Speaking of love interests, Rashida Jones (aka Karen) starred in a new series this week, #blackAF on Netflix. The show follows series creator Kenya Barris as he navigates wealth and identity while being black in hollywood. The comedy premiered with mixed reviews, but we encourage you to check it out and give us your thoughts!

Despite all the joyful happenings among the cast, we did lose one memorable character. Actor Ranjit Chowdhry, who portrayed Vikram in the series, passed away while visiting India. According to Entertainment Weekly, the Bollywood star was 64 and died during emergency surgery. Ranjit’s character had a two episode arc in the series, starting as Michael’s telemarketing co-worker in the season 4 episode Money.

Stanning for The Office? So are we! Share this article and check back weekly- we’ll keep you up to date on all things from the Scranton branch! While you’re at it, be sure to check out Afterbuzz Loves John Krasinski for even more updates.
