We all know Laurel Stucky is a fierce competitor on MTV’s The Challenge. She’s now opening up, sharing a tragic and personal story.

Stucky posted on her private Instagram account and stated, “I was raped at 21 years old as a virgin. I plan to share more about what happened in my own way, on my own time, but I feel strongly about communicating the importance of consent.”

She goes on to say that she wished the guy who did it asked her, so she could say no. “My life and so many others have been critically altered because someone couldn’t have just made sure I was okay with what was happening. I can’t tell you how many times I wished the guy who did it had only asked if I wanted it too.” Stucky said.

Some of the casts of The Challenge also commented on Stucky’s post including Dee Nguyen, who thanked her for sharing her story. Along with Stucky’s post, she shared a picture of herself in a sweater that said, “Consent is Sexy” and offered a discount for the company that makes the shirt, Suitheart, which is owned by The Challenge’s, Tori Deal.

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656 HOPE (4673) or go to online.rainn.org.
