What a WILD ending to The Bachelorette! If you were expecting a proposal, you might be a little disappointed; but if you were expecting a night of twists and turns, you definitely got your money’s worth!
The Season 15 finale started with two guys remaining from the initial field of 30 eligible bachelors, Tyler and Jed. Hannah confessed she had been falling in love with both men over the course of the season and was in a very difficult position.
“The life with Tyler is different than Jed, and I am conflicted in my heart. I was hopeful I’d have clarity, but today, I don’t know,” she admitted
In the end (or so we thought), Hannah chose to send Tyler home.
“I don’t know how to tell somebody today that they’re not enough, because that’s not true,” Hannah said.
With his proposal, Jed and his guitar (literally) said, “I have lived 25 years of my life without you, and I don’t want to go another day in my life without you as my wife.”
Hannah ecstatically said YES! Then, Jed’s web of lies started to unravel.
Hannah said the day after the proposal she was sent an article about Jed’s ex, Haley Stevens, and how her and Jed had a relationship leading up to the show.
Jed had been open during the season that he initially came onto the show to advance his music career and was even open about seeing someone, but wasn’t fully honest about the extent of their relationship. It was revealed Jed allegedly slept with Haley the night before he left for the show.
When given the chance to defend himself, Jed said, “I was acting out of fear instead of out of love and respect for you,” Jed says. “I was scared to lose you. I wasn’t sure how any of it would be taken.”
That wasn’t enough for Hannah and she ended things, claiming her trust was broken.
“You deserve the world, and you deserve to be happy,” said Jed before he left.
When talking with Chris Harrison, Hannah said her feelings for Tyler didn’t go away. Then, Tyler walked onto the stage to thunderous applause from the audience.
Hannah told Tyler her initial feelings were real, and Tyler replied that the day of the proposals was initially one of the exciting days and that he had true feelings.
So are the two getting back together?? They’re starting with a date.
“Let’s have a drink,” suggests Hannah.
Now we wait to see if Hannah and Tyler continue to thrive, or are just fine being friends. Either way, Hannah said she learned a lot about herself during this season.
“I have realized that I don’t need a husband. I want a husband, but I don’t need one,” said Hannah, “and I’m really, really proud of the woman that I’ve become through all this, because I am hella strong!”
