Welcome back to another week of True Crime stories on AfterBuzz TV –

Recently, a story resurfed about Tamla Horsford, a mother of 5, who was found dead after an adult slumber party in North Forsyth County in November of 2018. At the time, the investigators concluded she accidentally fell off the deck of the house to her death, but her friends and family have always felt there was foul play.

There were seven women and three men at the party and none of them came forward to tell what really happened that night. Tamla knew the women because their kids played football together, and that night they were celebrating another season of football as well as Jeanne Meyers’ (who owned the house) 45th birthday.

TSR STAFF: Christina C! @cdelafresh ___ During the recent #BlackLivesMatter movement, there’s been a push to revisit a number of cases where people feel justice has not been served. One of those incidents includes the mysterious death of Georgia mother #TamlaHorsford. ___ For those not familiar with Tamla’s story, the mother of five died in November of 2018 when she attended an “adult slumber party” with other football moms. While authorities claim the death of Tamla, who allegedly fell from a balcony, was accidental, others strongly suspect foul play in her death. It should be also noted that Tamla was the only black parent there. ___ Now, an attorney for Tamla’s family says his own independent investigation supports those concerns and that his review of the evidence “reflects that homicide is a strong possibility,” according to @wsbtv. ___ Attorney Ralph Fernadez said his office has done an exhaustive review of the case and believes the mother was killed and that it appears that she was involved in some sort of struggle prior to her death. The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office announced last February they were closing the case because-read more at TheShadeRoom.com (📹: @wsbtv)

The Horsford family attorney, Ralph Fernandez sent the family a letter in which he concluded there was a “strong possibility” Horsford’s death was the result of homicide as evidence shows that there was a struggle that took place.

Since then, a petition to reopen the investigation has gotten a great response of 500,000 signatures. With all the media attention Forsyth County has asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to open a new investigation to look into the death of Tamla Horsford.

Fernandez, the family lawyer says, “Witness statements are in conflict. A potential subject handled the body as well as the evidence prior to law enforcement arriving. Evidence was disposed of and no inquiry followed. The scene was not preserved. A remarkable fact is that there were no photographs taken during the autopsy of Tamla’s body. This had to have been done at someone’s directive, because such a practice is unheard of.”

To add another layer to the story, one of the three men, Jose Barrera, was dating Jeanne Meyers, who owned the house where the incident took place. Barrera was a former pretrial services officer for Forsyth County, and was fired in December 2018 because he was found illegally tampering with the reports from the case.

What exactly is he hiding? That is the question that needs to be answered.

This case was closed back in 2018, and ruled an accidental death with very little to no investigation. However, with the Black Lives Matter movement amplifying Black voices, Tamla Horsford’s case is being reinvestigated. Celebrities like 50 Cent and T.I are using their start power to help get justice for the Tamla Horsford case, they posted about her case on their social media platforms.
