ABTV Loves the Royals

It has been a few weeks of royal news, birthday celebrations and charity efforts in the time of this pandemic! At ABTV we sure love the Royal family and all of the joy and good they bring to our lives. We are celebrating the exciting news, milestones and humanitarian work they’ve been doing as our series, ABTV Loves The Royals begins!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are celebrating Archie’s 1st birthday today, May 6th! What a year it’s been for the whole family since they relocated to Los Angeles and stepped down from official royal duties as senior members of the royal family. I hope they’re settling in nicely and get to have a low-key celebration with their son.

Today, Save the Children UK released a video of Meghan reading “Duck! Rabbit!” to Archie for The Save the Stories campaign across the UK which supports children impacted by the pandemic. Happy Birthday, Archie!

The rest of the royal family sent well wishes to Archie on his 1st birthday as well:

Congratulations are in order for Prince William, The Duke, and Catherine,The Duchess of Cambridge,  on their 9-year wedding anniversary on April 29! Many of us around the world remember it so vividly. You can relive the magic of the day, the sounds of the bells ringing, the regal look of Westminster Abbey, the cheering crowds, the smiles, the music, the reveal of the iconic wedding dress, the special appearances, and the exchange of vows between Prince William and Kate.

We have more royal birthdays, including Princess Charlotte, celebrating her 5th birthday on May 2nd. Love these newly released photos in celebration of her big birthday.

Her younger brother Prince Louis is so adorable and celebrated his 2nd birthday on April 23rd. He had the cutest hands full of rainbow paint! Many children across the UK have been posting rainbows in their windows to show signs of hope and support during the pandemic. I’m so glad to see Prince Louis made it shine bright, as well!

Prince William and Catherine announced on the Kensington Palace social channels that they are providing mental health services for front-line workers in the UK by partnering with Mind Charity, Samaritans, Shout UK, Hospice UK and the Royal Foundation to come together to provide round-the-clock mental health support. This is a great reminder to check in with our loved ones, take the breaks we need, and reach out if we need help.

This week is also Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week across the UK and Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge, has been speaking to midwives, health visitors, front-line workers and new parents to help raise awareness for mom’s having children during this time and the impact it has on families.

Also in royal news, Princess Royal, Anne, spoke this week about the importance of midwives especially during this time of global pandemic.

This was a collaboration between the The World Health Organization (WHO), The International Confederation of Midwives, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and UNICEF in order to share and discuss best practices of caring for mothers and newborns during the pandemic.

“We must not ignore the outstanding role that midwives are playing in this global coronavirus pandemic. Every day, everywhere, babies are still being born – and midwives continue to smile and manage their own risk to make sure that women and their newborns stay safe, survive and thrive.”

There is so much Royal News weekly and we can’t wait to give you all the news in one place.
