ABTV Loves the Royals

We love celebrating all things from the royal family – especially weddings! At ABTV we sure love the Royal family, all of the joy and good they bring to our lives. We are celebrating this exciting anniversary today and more as ABTV Loves The Royals continues.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrate their second wedding anniversary today. Two years ago today, they were married at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, a much more intimate ceremony than past royal weddings but still grand in it’s own way. The ceremony had over 2,000 guests attending including multiple receptions and almost 2 billion people watched worldwide.

In honor of the day, here are some of my favorite moments of the celebration:

Meghan Markle wore a dress designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller under the fashion house of Givenchy. This modern, sleek and simple dress was a beautiful contrast to the grandeur around her as she walked down the aisle and radiated happiness and grace.

This was a historical day for not only the British monarchy but royal watchers as we saw friends, family and co-workers support Meghan and this beautiful union. I loved watching her Mom, Doria Ragland, beaming throughout the service as she looked at how Harry and Meghan interacted with each other.

I also loved the moment Prince Charles walked Meghan Markle, arm and arm, down the rest of the aisle as she got to the main part of the chapel with Prince Harry looking on with such a look of excitement and love.

Bishop Michael Curry delivered an uplifting sermon about the power of love in a crazy and wild world around them. You can see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle look at each other and take in these important words that they would need to remember throughout their marriage.

Songs including “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King and Mike Stoller, Arrangement by Mark Delisser, performed by The Kingdom Choir after the sermon and before their vows.

And during the procession, when they walked out of the chapel to adoring fans, cheers and lots of happy tears, “This Little Light of Mine” by Harry Dixon Loes played as The Kingdom Choir sang. It was a poignant moment of inclusion, embracing one’s heritage and moving forward into the next chapter of their lives.

An exchange of marriage vows is always a special, sentimental moment for any couple. For Prince Harry and Meghan Markle it seemed like they were the only ones in the room.

Usually the first royal newlywed kiss is done on the balcony of Buckingham Palace but in this case it happened on the stairs of the chapel. And the fans went wild with cheers and screams.
