Riverdale to Honor Luke Perry in Season 4 Premiere

Late Riverdale star Luke Perry and his character, Fred Andrews, are not just a memory. The actor is being celebrated during the premiere of the fourth season of Riverdale this fall.  

Perry, who died of a stroke at the age of 52 in March, also played a the iconic role of role of Dylan McKay in 90210 during the ‘90s.

In a social media post, Wednesday, Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguierre Sacasa tweeted, “Probably the most important episode of #Riverdale we’ll do this year, if not ever. A tribute to our fallen friend. Thankful for this opportunity to honor Luke & Fred.”

The episode, entitled “In Memoriam,” is set to premiere on Wednesday, October 9 and is directed by Gabriel Correa.

For the remainder of Season 3, which finished airing in May, writers decided to say that Fred was just out of town due to business.
