Throughout her career, she has pushed the boundaries of makeup, hair, and fashion while dominating the song charts. While her looks have lived on our Pinterest boards for years, she has worked hard to make it accessible for her fans. After the success of Fenty Beauty, Maison Fenty, and Savage x Fenty, Rihanna has added skin care to her empire. On July 31, Rihanna launched Fenty Skin but was sure to kick it off in true Fenty fashion.
Earlier this week, Rihanna invited fans and supporters to her virtual launch party. Without attending one of her Diamond Balls, it is no secret that Rihanna throws some of the best events. Her catalog alone serves as the perfect set list and her fashion sense makes it clear that the décor will not disappoint- even at a virtual venue. Upon arrival at the digital event, attendees were allowed to review the product ingredients, find signature drink recipes at the bar, and chat on the dance floor.
Skin care has often felt like a luxury and/or something that is only practiced by certain genders. In addition to the upbeat tunes and drink menu, Rihanna’s launch provided tips and information around skin care and how users can find products that work for their skin type.
“I wanted to focus on a very few number of products that I feel like you need and make them better than anything I’ve ever used or encountered,” Rihanna said when discussing Fenty Skin. “I believe that’s what people deserve. They deserve great products and great skin and it shouldn’t be inaccessible.”
You could feel the attention to detail jumping out off the screen as viewers clicked around the virtual beauty bar. The spa-like graphics accompanied information on the ingredients used in the products. The initial drop features a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer to make the ultimate starter kit. Barbados cherries, Australian lemon myrtle, Japanese raisin tree, and Kalahari melon are some of the nurturing ingredients you can find in her affordable collection.
As the party continued, party goers wondered if Rihanna would stop by. Their prayers were quickly answered when she arrived, serving yet another look, in an unreleased brown leather Maison Fenty dress. She video chatted with potential buyers and was nothing short of being the hostess with the mostest Although it’s probably as close to partying with Rihanna as many of us will get, it won’t hold us back from checking “attend a Rihanna party” off of our bucket lists.
The collection is now available to purchase on the Fenty Skin website. The Fenty brand has come so far since she changed the game with a 40-shade foundation launch with Fenty Beauty.
