Spotlight on the ‘Scrubbing In With Becca Tilley and Tanya Rad’ Podcast

Simply put, women are badasses. In my search to find positive outlets during a time of such increased anxiety, I couldn’t help but notice how much better I felt after listening to uplifting podcasts. As time passed, (slooowwwwwly in quarantine), I realized how many women in particular are coming through most impressively in this time. I knew I wasn’t the only one seeking light in a dark media world so I thought the least I could do was share what was working for me.

Scrubbing In With Becca Tilley and Tanya Rad has a “everyone’s included” energy. The conversation between hosts, production team, and their interchangeable guests made me feel like, for a second, things were back to normal, even when they were discussing the reality that is COVID19.

Rad and Tilley disclosed the truth about isolation and how it’s a scary time for all, but still putting my mind at ease, knowing we were all in this together. They went on to share how they were now recording separately in quarantine and how this time of solitude was such a precious reminder of how sacred real human connection is. My favorite part of the episode was hearing listeners request shout outs to loved ones such as health care providers or for friends that had to cancel weddings that could use an uplifting message from their idolized podcast hosts.

On the particular episode I’m referring to, “A 360 Moment with Jason Kennedy” Kennedy shares his experience filming his new E! Show In The Room. The message of his show couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time, seeing as how the entire premise revolves around seeing past the celebrity and into the core of the human being. By physically coming into their space of comfort, Kennedy sees them on a whole new level- a level I hope we all strive to get to when life returns to “normal.”

As damaging as COVID19 may seem, I believe wholeheartedly that we will all grow from this. Speaking for myself, podcasts of this kind reinforce how grateful I am to have means of connection through wifi and social media. It’s safe to say I’ve facetimed more these past few weeks than I have in two months and I’ve caught up with friends I “meant to” talk to so long ago.

Unfortunately, sometimes we need a drastic shift to put the world back into balance. All I know for sure is that we are all experiencing the anxiety of the unknown. Still, with faith, kindness, cooperation and podcasts like Scrubbing In With Becca Tilley and Tanya Rad, there’s no doubt we are coming out stronger.

As I stated before, quarantine life is hard for all so let’s help the hard workers behind this podcast and show UP for the ones that provide for us!

So, now the question is- will you listen?
