ABTV KDrama Watch Weekly

On June 24th, Korean actor Woo Do-hwan announced that he will be enlisting in the military on July 6, 2020. He posted a heartfelt letter to his fans and there wasn’t a dry eye on Instagram.

“Thank you for watching over my 20’s and loving me,” Do-hwan expressed. “I hope you will be happy and healthy during these difficult times. I will return in good health and work to impress once again.”

Impress is an understatement. I know I’m not alone when I say that Woo Do-hwan is one of my favorite actors. His acting is beyond versatile, but he always gives us a flash of his charm no matter the character.

The Great Seducer a.k.a Tempted (2018)

The story follows four young adults as they explore love through manipulation, deceit, seduction, vulnerability and pain. It’s a mix of Cruel Intentions, Gossip Girl and sometimes Saved by the Bell. So many layers.

Our boy Do-hwan plays with fire the entire time as the bad boy master manipulator. He values his friendships more than anything, which is often put to the test. His character is on a twisted adventure to find himself with few left unscathed.

The chemistry between Do-hwan, Kim Min-jae and Moon Ka-young is perfection. They make you want to be a part of their unbelievably dysfunctional squad, even though you definitely know better.

Save Me a.k.a Rescue Me (2017)

Do-hwan’s performance in this drama is a brooding masterpiece. He plays a young man in a group of friends, including 2PM’s Ok Taecyeon, that are living their best lives all over town.

The guys become fixated on a new girl in town, played by Seo Yea-ji, who they later end up trying to save from a vicious cult that her family has been sucked into.

Between trying to figure out this group of friends and watching the wild acts of the cult leader, you won’t want to stop watching.

The King: Eternal Monarch (2020)

A modern day King continuously crosses the barrier into an alternate reality as he tries to figure out how to close the portal while developing relationships in both dimensions.

The range that Do-hwan shows in this is truly something else. His role as the King’s best friend and head of security could not have been more perfect for him.

Throughout the show, every leading character has such an intricate storyline that makes you need to know more. As all of their relationships intertwine, you really become connected to both dimensions.

These aren’t the only dramas you can get your fix of Do-hwan in. There are plenty of shows and movies for you to check out while we await his return. Until then, we wish Do-hwan all the best in active duty!
