Ogom ‘OG’ Chijindu Originally Turned Down Spot on Basketball Wives!
VH1’s Basketball Wives as we know it was almost a lot different. And we mean A LOT!
Castmember Ogom “OG” Chijindu guested on AfterBuzz TV’s Basketball Wives aftershow and revealed she almost didn’t go on! In fact, she had said no before!
“Honestly, to be 100% honest with you guys. You guys are getting an exclusive right now,” started OG. “I was actually asked to be on the show in 2012 and at, the person I was dating at that time, I did not have a relationship with him that was strong enough for the show. He was an athlete and I did not want to be on the show, so I declined it.”
Basketball Wives originally premiered in 2010 on VH1. It shares the stories of women who are girlfriends or wives or current or former players in the National Basketball Association.
OG is currently dating Kwame Alexander, who is playing basketball overseas. OG also plays professional football.
So why reconsider and come on now?
“For me, I saw a growth in the show, I saw a platform that was there that was offered to me, and, in my opinion, it’s, it’s kind of now was the perfect moment to give people something different,” shared OG.
Additionally, she felt like she had more to share, including having her boyfriend who is actually playing basketball, the only one for this season.
“Which is what people want to see, and hopefully we can take the girls to a game and they see it again. Right now, we’re dealing with a lot of people who either are already married or have been divorced. I still have a lot more to give. I haven’t had a child yet. I’ve never been married. Kwame’s [Alexander] never been married. He’s never had a child,” said OG.
Basketball Wives airs every Wednesday night, and AfterBuzz has an aftershow for every episode so you can share your thoughts!
