Netflix Creating Magic: The Gathering TV Series

Magic: The Gathering is finally coming to television!

Netflix released a teaser Monday for the new series, which will be produced by Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo. The Russo brothers will pair with Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast for the new animated series.

Turns out, the Russo brothers actually play the 26-year-old game!

“We have been huge fans and players of Magic: The Gathering for as long as it has been around, so being able to help bring these stories to life through animation is a true passion project for us,” the brothers said in a statement.

Few details about the project have been released, but we do know it will focus on the creation of an all new storyline involving the Planeswalkers. The Planeswalkers are individuals who can travel to different planes within the Magic universe.

The Russo Brothers will also be joined by Henry Gilroy (Star Wars Rebels) and Jose Molina (Agent Carter), who will be lead writers.

There is no dates set for the release of the series.
