MTV and Sean ‘P.Diddy” Combs are officially reviving the competition series, Making The Band.
After a week of back and forth, Combs announced to his fans on social media Monday that MTV has asked him to bring back the series. He had initially seemed like the decision was up in the air.
Combs tweeted saying “I’ve made my decision… #MakingTheBand is coming back!!!” Combs also added “This will be a global talent search, upload your auditions now using #MTBcasting!!”
Making the Band first made its way to television on ABC in 2000 by Lou Pearlman, former manager of the Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync. The winner of season one formed the boy band, O-Town. Combs brought back the competition series in 2002 on a new network, MTV. The series would follow the journeys of top chart musical groups Danity Kane, Day26, Da Band and Donnie Klang.
