Challenge Vet Cory Wharton is speaking out after MTV cut ties with Taylor Selfridge because of resurfaced racist tweets.

In an emotional Instagram live video, Wharton, who shares a newborn daughter with Selfridge,  talked to more than 20 thousand viewers explaining his thoughts on the situation and Taylor.

“Taylor is strong and she’s pulling through, and I’m super proud of her. I feel like she’s apologized as many times on the network, she’s probably going to have to continue to apologize for it, but I know this girl better than anybody else… It’s tough when you see somebody that you love being painted a certain way and that’s not who she is, it’s hard man it’s tough.” Said Wharton.

On Tuesday MTV’s Teen Mom released a statement saying they were pulling Cory and Taylor’s Baby special, and cutting ties with her.

“We pulled Teen Mom OG AT Home: Cory & Taylor’s Baby special from the schedule and ended our relationship with Taylor Selfridge in light of her past racist statements on social media.” Said MTV.

MTV’s firing of Taylor comes after a 2018 clip from an Ex On The Beach After Show here on AfterBuzz TV surfaced online. A warning to you there’s strong offensive language ahead.

“We have to greet everyone at work but sometimes I won’t greet the black people because they scare me” Read Ex on The Beach and Challenge star Alicia Lavida.

Taylor has not commented since MTV released it’s statement, but did post a message on Instagram prior.

“I made the decision last week to not film the next season of Teen Mom OG with Cory for the benefit of myself and my daughter. I don’t believe the reality tv lifestyle benefits me any further at this point in my life.”

As for Cory, The Challenge and Teen Mom Star says even though he disagrees with MTV, he’s still staying with the cable network.

“I have not parted ways with MTV, this needs to be understood, I’m not going anywhere, and let me be the first one to say I’m not going anywhere.”

Taylor isn’t the first reality star to get fired from MTV. On Monday, MTV’s The Challenge released a statement saying they were parting ways with Dee Nguyen due to offensive comments dealing with the Black Lives Matter Movement.

We here at AfterBuzz TV are in full support of the Black Lives Matter movement, so please continue to tune in to our network daily for more coverage!
