Marvel is Big Winner at MTV Movie & TV Awards

It has been the year of Marvel, and it showed at the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards. Marvel took home four awards, including the top award of Best Movie for Avengers: Endgame.

The 28th annual ceremony aired Monday night, but was filmed Saturday, June 15, 2019, in Barker Hangar theater in Santa Monica, California with Shazam’s star Zachary Levi as this year’s host.

In addition to the award for Best Movie, Avengers’ star Josh Brolin took home the award for Best Villain and Robert Downey Jr. won for Best Hero, and Captain Marvel won for Best Fight.

Noah Centineo won two awards during the ceremony, both for his performance in To All the Boys I Loved Before. Centineo won for Best Breakthrough Performance and for the Best Kiss, with costar Lara Jean.

Dwayne Johnson and Jada Pinkett Smith were among special stars being honored at the Awards. Johnson was given the MTV Generation Award and Smith received the MTV Trailblazer Award.

Lizzo and Bazzi took the stage for musical performances during the ceremony.
