Youtube stars Marcus Johns and his wife Kristin Johns were involved in an almost fatal hit and run accident but are thankful to still be alive.

“Surviving this was nothing short of a miracle.”

Marcus shares on his IG.

Kristin posted a video in her hospital bed, holding back tears as she explains their accident.

“Last night Marcus and I were in a horrible bicycle accident. A man going extremely fast hit us head on and he fled the scene. My femur is snapped in half and I had surgery this morning. Marcus’ lower leg is broken.”

Even though they both are suffering from severe injuries they both are thankful to be alive and that Jesus was with them.

“Jesus saved our lives and there is no question about that. This was an extremely traumatic experience.”

After undergoing surgery Kristin has a permanent metal rod in her femur bone but her and Marcus will both be able to walk again.

Marcus posted a video on his IG giving more details on how they were involved in the hit and run.

“The car that hit us was apparently part of a burglary and was trying to run from the cops. We think the car hit us on purpose to try to get the cops attention away from him so he can get away.”

They both flew about 50 feet from the impact, causing Marcus to blackout. Sadly, Kristin was still fully conscious and had to watch her husband be unresponsive until the ambulance came.

Me and @kristinjohns are ok! Nothing is official yet, but this is what we think has happened: We were on the far side of the road with other bikers and pedestrians. It is a residential neighborhood with multiple stop signs and speed bumps back to back over a short distance. I look down the road and heard an engine revving all the way up and it seemed like in the moment the guy was trying to hit us on purpose. I said to Kris “what is this guy doing!?” He was driving erratically and swerving towards us. I tried to swerved out of the way but he just followed us to hit us. I blacked out until I got to the hospital. So after I don’t know what really happened. Sadly Kristin was fully conscious and had to watch me unresponsive on the concreate till ambulance arrived for us. Kristin said we flew about 50 feet from the impact. When I woke up and was trying to explain what happened, and I didn’t think people would believe me that I was convinced he was trying to actually kill us. But now it wall makes sense if the robbery and police pursuit is officially confirmed. Anyways, scary stuff. We are better now but please keep us in your prayers. We love you all. Me and kris got to see each other briefly today before going into our surgery and I am so glad she is safe. To friends and family, sorry if we don’t respond to you all now, it is hard to keep up with all of those reaching out (which is of course an amazing blessing to have!) praise Jesus. He has a plan for you and after today me and Kristin were totally reminded of this. Surviving this was nothing short of a miracle. ❤️🙏🏻

Kirstin has been facing struggles during her first physical therapy session and has been in intense pain. She updated us on an Instagram story that she has to take it one day at a time.

“I thought I would be able to stand with a walker but even just sitting on the bed was excruciating and I’m on heavy pain medication..I just have to take it one day at a time..”

During another session Kristin posted a video of her being able to stand with a walker.

I stood today!!!! 🥳 This morning in my first physical therapy session I barely made it to the edge of the bed before passing out from excruciating pain which was very discouraging. But this afternoon I was able to take about 5 steps which is CRAZY! I am so motivated to get up & walk with a walker because then we can go home & be with family. Due to the pandemic we are not allowed to have visitors so FaceTiming my friends & family (& Marcus from the other hospital room) has been a life saver. Also I am going say it again & again, thank you Jesus for saving our lives. Thank you to the amazing nurses for being angels as well. And thank you guys for your messages, I find so much peace & happiness reading them throughout the day. LOVE YOU!

Due to Covid-19, Marcus and Kristin aren’t allowed any visitors, but they have been facetiming. Even though they can’t be with family and friends at least they have each other.

Marcus shared on his IG a video of him and Kristin seeing each other in person since the accident. The nurses were letting the couple know they were doing great and will get stronger.

Day 3 update. I’m waking with a walker! Your prayer are working! @kristinjohns did her physical therapy today and was able to sit up. The doctors said that this is actually very good for next day after a femur surgery. Here is a little clip of me walking and surprising her at her room. This was our first time actually talking in person since the accident besides a quick wave before our surgery. Pain for both of has been up and down. Best and worst it’s been so far. Just taking a day at a time. Would love to be able to put my full weight on my leg but my upper body is doing most the lifting as of now. Either way, I’m mobile and they are saying I will likely be discharged tomorrow! Please pray that Kristin is able to stand and walk a little so we can leave together at the same time! Thanks for all the calls texts and messages on social media from family friends and all who have supported us. It means the world and lifts our spirits so much!! Also to all the medical professionals who are here working during corona and around the world we couldn’t be more grateful. Love you all. The staff here has been so nice and accommodating and the detective police and first responders have all been amazing and very supportive through this difficult time. As of now the person who hit us is still out and about as of now, but more details to come soon. I will update when I can. A lot more details have come to light. Very weird stuff. I will let you know when I can. More to come! Love you all and thanks for cheering us on! Edit: since recording and posting this video, Kristin has stop up and walked 5 steps! Hooray! She is already ahead of me on the posting 😄😷😅
