Several stories have been told about Kobe Bryant loving his daughters, but the story of him being a present parents days before his death will inspire you.
Ed Mylett, an entrepreneur, shared the story on Black Hollywood Live’s Super Soul Sitdown.
“My last visual of Kobe last Sunday was; the gym had emptied. There was a volleyball tournament with tons of matches going on and it ended up that the last match was ours. I, for some reason, I don’t even know why I did it, I stopped and watched him with his daughter and I watched him as they were walking with his arm around her and walked all the way out just cradling her,” said Mylett.
Mylett shared he had watched Kobe all day, and said he was never distracted with events going on around him, or messages coming in on his phone.
“He’s gentle with her the way a daddy should be. He’s present with her,” said Mylett.
Mylett is an entrepreneur with almost two million Instagram followers, best selling author of #Maxout Your Life, motivational speaker, but first and foremost a dedicated father and husband.
In Mylett’s interview with hosts Jaimi Alexander and Haley J, he shared how even someone of his elevated stature can still gain life changing lessons from those around him.
Beyond Kobe’s lessons, we shared very relatable gems from Oprah’s most recent interview with guest Amy Schumer on the 2020 Vision Tour edition of Super Soul Conversations podcast.
One of the most memorable moments was when Mylett spoke on his goal for his life saying, “of course I want God to say good job but, I have this hallucination that I think at some point I’m going to meet the man that I was capable of becoming. The man who had the memories, the moments, the contribution, the feeling about himself, the difference he made in the world.”
Being a father isn’t an easy position, but both Mylett and Kobe are great examples of how to make the most of the time we have with those closest to us.
