This year, Premio Lo Nuestro will be held at the American Airlines Arena in Miami on February 18 on Univision.

The award show added four new categories to their list including Urban Album of the Year, Pop Album of the Year, Mexican Regional Album of the Year, and Cumbia Song of the Year.

Artist Of The Year

The nominees in this list include the following: Alejandro Fernández, Bad Bunny, Camilo, Christian Nodal, J Balvin, Karol G, Maluma, Natti Natasha, and Ozuna.

All the artists in the category released amazing music this year and some even released albums (more than one if you’re Bad Bunny) with songs that climbed the charts.

More importantly, the category features two amazing and powerful women who have dominated the urban genre in the last few years.

J Balvin took the time on Instagram to thank everyone for their support throughout all these years.

It’s safe to say that any one of these artists can take home the award but it’s ultimately up to fans to vote who they think was the Artist Of The Year.

Pop – Group or Duo Of The Year

We love a good musical group or duo and the following nominees are some of our favorites.

The nominees for this category were Cali Y El Dandee, CNCO, Jesse & Joy, Mau y Ricky, and Reik.

CNCO won this award back in 2017 and they were more than pleased to announce their four nominations for Premio Lo Nuestro this year.

Album Of The Year

So many great albums but only one can win!

The nominees in this category included Prince Royce with Alter Ego, Colores by J Balvin, YHLQMDLG by Bad Bunny, Papi Juancho by Maluma, Hecho En México by Alejandro Fernández, plus more!

Maluma reacted to his nominations with so much gratitude and urged his fans to vote for him in the categories he was nominated in.

New Artist Female

One thing is for sure, 2020 allowed for so many of us to hear music from brand new artists and women really took over this past year.

This year the nominees include Chesca, Emilia, Nathy Peluso, Nicki Nicole, and Yennis.

Argentina is taking over with three of the five artists being from there.

Emilia was excited for her nomination and shared it with her fans on social media.

Yennis, who won the competition show ‘Reina De La Cancion’ in 2019, also expressed her gratitude for her nomination and hoped to count on her fans to vote for her,

New Artist Male

Just like there were new female artists there were also new male artists.

The nominees in this category included Camilo, Jay Wheeler, Natanael Cano, Neto Bernal, and Rauw Alejandro.

All five of these artists left their mark on 2020 by giving fans of Spanish music a unique sound to listen to.

Puerto Rico native Jay Wheeler was more than happy to receive his nomination and took the time to thank his fans for their support. He even said that he doesn’t have to win as the nomination was more than enough.
