Mark O’Brien has already had an illustrious Hollywood career with major roles in both television and film, but the Newfoundland-native is now working to promote his new crime thriller Hammer, while balancing family time and joining the peaceful protests in Los Angeles.

As quarantine is slowly coming to an end, Mark shared that the silver lining has been the family time he’s gotten to share with his loving wife and actress Georgina Reilly, as well as his young daughter. O’Brien is even focusing on his writing work as he is also a successful filmmaker.

Most recently, Mark has taken to the streets of The City of Angels to join the BLM protests and to show his support for the movement. The Hammer star discussed how he has always admired African American stars in Hollywood and he is proud to show his allyship at the protests.

“All my heroes were African American growing up from Tupac Shakur to Will Smith to The Roots To Wutang to RZA, so it means so much to me and I just felt like I had to be there. It’s really in my bones to be a part of it.”

Something else that O’Brien was a part of recently was his role on the riveting crime thriller Hammer. Mark touched on how much he loved being a part of Hammer and how much he loved working with co-star and movie dad Will Patton. Mark also discussed what he wants fans to take away from his new film, and his message couldn’t be more fitting for these trying times.

“On top of it all, I think it’s really important, things that are left unsaid in these tight relationships that can ruin a relationship or just let it go dry for so long, and it’s so important to just say how you feel and try to make amends with the people you love.”

If you love Mark and his work as much as we do, check him out on his other recent projects like Showtime’s City On A Hill and his upcoming films Blue Bayou and The Righteous, slated for release this year.
