Quarantine has affected us all differently. Some of us have meditated, painted, cooked, read books, or walked in our neighborhoods. AfterBuzz TV’s Host + Writer, Megan Gallagher, caught up with the daughter of Kyle Richards, Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie, to see what she was doing during this 2020 pandemic. 

Aldjufrie started out by saying how anxiety runs in her family, “My mom has terrible anxiety and so does my sister. I used to think, “what are they talking about?” because my anxiety came later in life. I didn’t have it my whole life except before a test or presentation and I would study, get through the test and I’d be fine until the next test came around” (18:25). 

Farrah also commented on her quarantine morning routine, “ Before quarantine, I was waking up at 5:30am during the week. That’s not a natural thing, I’m not an early bird at all. I wake up with a lot of anxiety every day, unfortunately. I always feel like I have so many emails and things to do. So if I can wake up when It’s still dark and I can get a head start and feel peaceful starting the day. My boyfriend and I wake up together, meditate for 20 minutes then we go to the gym together and then our favorite healthy smoothie. We have a total of about three hours of just self care time before we do emails, meetings, etc” (12:15). 

Megan and Farrah then chatted about their anxiety and how it’s manifested in their life.“When I was in High School, specifically, I was having panic attacks all day long and never knew what they were. I didn’t have a clue as to what I was feeling was a real, diagnosable condition. I told my parents one day, and they said, “Megan, we love you… next week you are going to therapy,” Megan said about her own journey (13:52). 

Aldjufrie went on to describe how she feels when she’s having anxiety, by sharing, “ As an entrepreneur, it’s not like there’s an end date or final exam then you’re done. You constantly feel that you should be doing more. It feels like it never ends and the only solution is to understand it and get ahead of it” (18:44). 

Megan then asked Farrah what her favorite self care routines are, Farrah answered with, “ I love hot yoga, something about the sweat and heat makes me feel amazing. Having quiet time in the morning, not looking at emails. I just don’t like being rushed, I love having two hours to myself. I also love yoga and being outside. Taking small breaks from work, taking a walk down the street and just checking in with yourself” (21:37).
