Claire Rehfuss Interview

Big Brother’s inseparable duo has officially been separated: Claire Rehfuss was evicted by her number one ally, Tiffany, Thursday night. Tiffany nominated Claire for eviction as a replacement nominee after her target, Alyssa, won the Power of Veto and removed herself from the block.

Despite all her efforts to keep Claire in the house as long as possible, Tiffany ultimately chose loyalty to The Cookout instead of her best friend. Now, Claire is revealing what she thinks she knows about Tiffany’s secret alliance and more in her exclusive interview below:

AFTERBUZZ: Knowing what you know now, if you could go back in time, what would you do with your secret HOH?

CLAIRE: I would’ve tried to make more deals and gather more information. If I had known that I was gonna win, that’s what I would’ve done, but it was so unknown what was gonna happen. Maybe I would’ve put up Alyssa and Big D instead. But honestly, Sarah Beth and Kyland made it very, very hard to trust the two of them in this game. And so, even if I had a time machine and I went back, I don’t know if I would do anything differently because I wouldn’t have wanted to betray Tiffany, and I told Tiffany that I would do what she wanted. I felt bad for overthrowing her. If it would have been anyone else I was overthrowing, I would’ve put Alyssa and Big D up for sure, but it was Tiffany. And so, I had to stick with my tightest ally and do what needed to be done and kept nominations the same.

AFTERBUZZ: You told Alyssa that Xavier has a bunch of deals with people in the house. What do you think those deals are, and with who?

CLAIRE: I’m sure that Xavier has a final two deal with Alyssa. Azah revealed to me before I left that they’re in a final three: it’s Azah, Big D, and X, and that the Alyssa thing isn’t one, it seems–okay, sure. I’m sure that X also has a relationship with the guys, with Kyland and with Big D, and I’m sure he has something with [Hannah] Chaddha. Maybe he doesn’t, but they at least have a friendship. And so I think that he has a lot of deals of, ‘Hey, let’s look out for each other, da, da, da, da,’ and hopefully I was able to blow some of those up. But I think that Alyssa might be a little too naive, and she won’t see those in place.

AFTERBUZZ: Of everyone who was evicted before you in the house, who do you regret evicting most and why?

CLAIRE: Ah, this is tricky. I mean, honestly, maybe I regret evicting Travis the most because then Alyssa would be gone, and this would be such a different game. Travis was on my team. Of course, maybe if he had stayed, he would’ve been targeted. The Queens would’ve been looked at. Travis left, and then no one looked at The Queens for a really long time. I don’t really regret evicting Sarah Beth that much because I think she probably also had deals with Alyssa and Xavier. Maybe I regret not being able to flip Britini–that’s probably what I regret the most, but I gave it my best shot, and I wasn’t able to do it. So, I guess Travis.

AFTERBUZZ: When Derek X was in the house, you speculated there was a secret alliance running the house. Do you still think that, and who do you think is in it?

CLAIRE: This was a deep conversation. I didn’t know if this made it on the show or not, but when Derek X and I were talking, we did talk of the potential of an alliance of Tiffany, Xavier, Kyland, Big D, Azah, maybe Chaddha, potentially running the house or something. I don’t really think that that is a true solid alliance, but I do feel like there were forces that were working outside of me and what I foresaw happening in the game. So I don’t think that was necessarily an alliance, but I think it was a, ‘Let’s look out for each other. Let’s not evict each other until we absolutely have to,’ type of deal.

AFTERBUZZ: What do you see as Tiffany’s best path to victory from here?

CLAIRE: Oh, Tiffany is gonna have to start winning out. Hopefully, a shot gets taken at X. Tiffany can remain in the game, maybe work with Kyland for a few weeks, take out some of the floaters, and then eventually take out Kyland. So hopefully, the path looks like Xavier is leaving now, and then people might be looking at Alyssa. Maybe Alyssa goes, but maybe before Alyssa goes, she gets a shot at Kyland. I think it’s a really tricky path for Tiff to the end. She’s gonna have to make a lot of deals, but Tiffany’s very paranoid, and Tiffany does not trust easily. So hopefully, she knows that she can trust Chaddha, and hopefully, she trusts Azah, and they’re able to somehow make it through this game, and the guys just don’t all stick together.
