It was an amazing day for Hollywood men and women of color Sunday in Los Angeles, as ADCOLOR, the premier organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting professionals of color and diversity in the creative industries, hosted its largest annual conference to date.
Eva Longoria and Bell Biv DeVoe, among other stars, walked the carpet to promote the positive messages that define the organization. This year, the conference sponsored over 17 sessions across five packed stages, prioritizing a message of change and growth within the worlds of advertising, tech, business, media, and entertainment.
In addition to celebs, the event, held at the JW Marriot at LA Live, featured a myriad of diverse CEOs, media execs, and movers and shakers dedicated to increased representation in creative industries. Organizations like BuzzFeed, The Hollywood Reporter, Microsoft, Facebook, and Apple were all represented at the busy conference!
Among other notable achievements, Eva Longoria was awarded the Beacon Award. The Beacon Award honors “talent who uses their celebrity as a catalyst to change the status quo in the quest for diversity and inclusion.” Regarding the choice to honor Longoria,
SVP of Programming from ADCOLOR, Lisa Granatstein offered, “There is no better honoree to set the tone of Adweek’s inaugural Beacon Award than Eva Longoria. From her formidable seven-year-old Eva Longoria Foundation that empowers Latinas via STEM education and entrepreneurship to her leadership role calling for diversity in Hollywood, Eva’s remarkable accomplishments are both authentic and action-oriented.”
According to the organization’s website, the conference strives to be “a one-day and a half immersive event that convenes innovators, experts and thought leaders from multiple creative industries: advertising, marketing, media, entertainment, public relations and tech.”
This was the organization’s 13th annual celebration, and based on these amazing photos, we’re sure they accomplished that goal!
