Live streaming is more popular than ever before due to the coronavirus pandemic. Many celebrities have been relying on live streaming to continue broadcasting their creative skills and interacting with fans.

Facebook will be adding a new feature that will allow people to charge viewers to watch their live streams. Charging users to watch live streams will allow small businesses and creatives to make money, since concerts have been postponed.  Many creatives are struggling to stay afloat financially because a lot of their gigs have been canceled and now they must depend on music downloads. Hosts of live streams will be able to charge viewers for performances, creative learning classes, and professional conferences.

Erykah Badu has already hopped on the train and started charging viewers $1 to $3 to watch her perform on her own streaming platform called Badu World Market. Her streaming platform allows viewers to experience another side of Badu and her collaborations with other creatives.

Facebook has yet to announce a specific date for when the feature will be added to the platform. Would you be okay with paying to watch your favorite artists perform? If so, how much would you be willing to pay? Let us know in the comments, we would love to hear from you!

If you love Erykah Badu and keeping up with the latest social media innovations, share this article with a friend.  Tune in daily to AfterbuzzTV articles and aftershows for the latest news and info on pop culture and entertainment.
