Black actors are calling out Hollywood and their shows on the racism they experienced or have continued to experience while working on set.

Trina McGee, the actress who joined Boy Meets World in the last three seasons as Shawn’s love interest Angela.. While the show meant a lot to fans, McGee wasn’t afraid to share what her experience was like working on the show.

In January, McGee spoke out against not only her former co-stars but also for their treatment towards her during her time on the show

“I was cold and distant to @realtrinamcgee the week she was on GMW because I was going through a divorce,” Fishel Karp explained in a tweets on Sunday. “I kept to myself a lot, head in my phone, and not just that week. I’m truly sorry this news let you down but at the end of the day, Trina accepted my apology for not giving her the warm welcome she deserved and that’s what matters most to me.”

Mcgee posted her own Tweet in reply to Fishel’s apology and even complimented both Fishel and Will Friedle for reaching out to her amidst so much tension and starting the journey to building their friendship again.

Before anyone attacks Friedle for his past treatment. McGee captioned on her Instagram, “FOR THE RECORD: WILL FRIEDLE the man responsible for AuntJemimagate, apologized to me 22 years ago and again days ago in a three-page letter. We talked more on it and he acknowledged that he really wasn’t educated enough in his early twenties to know he was truly offending me,”

McGee has wanted to think of what happened to her and the overall apologies she received from two of the three people that didn’t make her time on Boy Meets World the greatest experience but rather use it as a teachable moment.

Instead of canceling people or situations, we should all have a little more compassion and spread love to give people the opportunity to learn from their past mistakes/choices. To educate themselves on how to be more conscious of their behavior and to do better.
