In the aftermath of Valentine’s Day, you may either feel like Cupid struck you with his arrow or like the Grinch on Christmas. While it may be a mushy-lovey-dovey holiday for some, others may dread the holiday in its entirety.

Celebs aren’t exempt from experiencing these emotions either, as they have openly expressed their worst heartbreaks. Check out the list below as celebs reveal their saddest moments after a break-up.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck

In J.Lo’s memoir  True Love, she described how she felt after her break up with Ben Affleck.

She mentioned, “It felt like my heart had been torn out of my chest.”

Drake and Rihanna

Drake opened up to Elle magazine about his relationship with Rihanna.

He said, “At the time it hurt, but she didn’t mean to. I’ll never put that on her. I was hurt because I started to slowly realize what it was. I guess I thought it was more.”

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries

At the time of their divorce, Kim Kardashian posted a message to fans saying, “It just didn’t turn out to be the fairy tale I had so badly hoped for.”
Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise

After the couple’s split, Nicole Kidman expressed “I’m not sure what the future holds but I do know that I’m going to be positive and not wake up feeling desperate.”

Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan

In regards to his split from Meg Ryan, Dennis Quaid told The Telegraph “When you break up, your whole identity is shattered. That’s why it is like death.”

Rita Ora and Calvin Harris

In an interview with Wonderland magazine, Rita Ora revealed her emotional state after her break up with Calvin Harris.

She said, “At the time, I just wanted to crawl in my bed and die. But I got out of it. I’m surviving. I kind of saw the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Kate Moss and Johnny Depp

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Kate Moss described the after-effects of her breakup with Johnny Depp.

She said, “There’s nobody that’s ever really been able to take care of me. Johnny did for a bit. I believed what he said. Like if I said, ‘What do I do?,’ he’d tell me. And that’s what I missed when I left. I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust. Nightmare. Years and years of crying. Oh, the tears!”

Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke

Uma Thurman tells Redbook, she was “in agony” after her breakup with Ethan Hawke. She also adds, it took four years to “feel better.”

Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie

In an interview with Anderson Cooper, Billy Bob Thornton revealed “I blew it because I didn’t think I was good enough for her. I was just too insecure.”

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline

Kevin Federline informed People, ”I didn’t give her an ultimatum, but I was trying to work stuff out with her, and she didn’t even talk to me or anything and went behind my back and filed for divorce. I was completely blindsided.”

Well, it’s safe to say that celebrities are mere mortals and can get their hearts broken, too. No-one is exempt from the sadness, pain, and grief that comes with ending a relationship.
