For months many fans have speculated on why Cara Maria and Paulie Calafiore are not on this season of The Challenge: Total Madness

Now Cara Maria is addressing those rumors and letting viewers know what happened to cause her and Paulie not to be a part of the season 35 cast.

During an Instagram live session she said there were two reasons on why she chose to skip out on 35, one being due to her horse not being well.

The second reason however gets pretty intense, with Cara saying certain cast members were tired of Paulie sending them home every season, so she says they came up with a plan.

“These cast members then decided if you can’t beat him, let’s ban him, so the cast members then gathered together; Paulie was doing lip syncing videos to Papa Roach songs because that’s what gets him hyped when he works out.” Cara explained, “These cast members would take these videos and be like we feel afraid, he’s a school shooter, we’re afraid he’s going to come murder us, and we don’t feel safe in The Challenge House with Paulie.”

The drama didn’t stop there, things took a turn for the worse the night before the season 34 reunion when Paulie and Cara ran into some of the casts.

“That one certain castmate got all of his other coked out and extremely drunk castmates who follow his every word to come out, jump Paulie basically… Meanwhile the other cast mates have their video cameras ready. So this is what’s going on. I’m watching this, and I’m like please don’t take the bait, don’t take the bait, Paule took the bait.”Said Cara Maria.

Cara said the cast mates involved sent the higher ups the videos saying Paulie attacked them, forcing the higher ups  to make the decision to not cast Paulie on season 35.

The Challenge Champ said she does not blame the people that are in charge, but says she couldn’t be a part of this season due to what she says went down.

“Do I want to go through a season with these people to the extent of what they did? The length that certain cast members went behind the scenes to create a narrative, to push that narrative, to ensure that legally it would not be okay for Paulie to not be on this season.” Cara said.

Cara Maria never mentioned exactly who was involved but did give a little shout out to some of the cast on Total Madness,

“You can thank the cast mates that are thriving this season, who are part of the numbers this season, for the fact that me and Pauly are not there.”
