Britney Spears, 38, has received support from millions across the globe. Some offered support and guidance, while others shared their concern for the pop star’s wellbeing. The letter, by Britney- was read aloud on Instagram by Britney’s photographer, from 2008, Andrew Gallery. In the video, Gallery reads a letter, Spears wrote (at the time) in third person, about her marriage to Kevin Federline, her two sons and how upset she was about the media creating stories portraying her in a false way.

Andrew Gallery reading Britney’s letter

Gallery first quoted, “after reading Kevin’s article in People, I was amazed at how the article was focused on Britney, their mother… in order to sell a magazine. Instead of, this being on Kevin. What happened a year ago, people need to get with the times”(1:05).

Andrew went on to share more details about the letter, which include personal details about Britney’s life. In the past, Britney has had her struggles and public outbursts. Yet, at this time, we all as a community of fans and followers- use our platforms and words to spread empathy and kindness. We all know someone who struggles with anxiety, depression or bipolar. It’s more productive and helpful to lend a hand and educate others on the illness.

Spears’ father stepped forward amidst the allegations claiming he is “controlling Britney”. Stating, “all of these conspiracy theories and rumors are fake. The world doesn’t have a clue what goes on behind closed doors. I love my daughter, I love all my kids, but this is a family business. It’s private matters”.

During this time we all are sending our love and prayers to Britney. It’s challenging enough to go through mental illness or personal matters, but to do so in the spotlight, is not a walk in the park. I truly hope Britney is well and in a safe, happy environment where she is being treated as a human, not a machine.
