ABTV Quarantine With The Stars: Caroline Romano

If you’re looking for a new club banger that you can dance to in your living room during COVID19, Caroline Romano has got you covered. Caroline has worked with the likes of Shawn Mendes and Why Don’t We and with a few fire singles already released, she’s ready to set the music world even more ablaze with her new hit “I Still Remember” feat. R3HAB.

Caroline has always loved music.  She got her start in performing during open mic nights in the country music epicenter of Nashville. After cutting her teeth in the early stages of her career, she reached a milestone when she got the chance to open for Shawn Mendes during his performance at a festival.

Caroline shared that working with Shawn was one of the best experiences of her life and she was honored to open for him at this event.

“When I found out I got to open for him at that show, I freaked out, and all I had was my guitar. I didn’t have like a band or anything else, and he got up on stage…but he’s like the kindest human being and it was just really cool to see an artist who I know had been working for so long and see his fans there and see what an attainable after hard-working situation that can be.”

The “Stream of Consciousness” singer has definitely been hard at work during quarantine and shared that she’s keeping busy in all these crazy times by getting back to writing the old-fashioned way, with her guitar in hand and the creativity flowing through her veins.

On the heels of the release of her new single “I Still Remember”, Caroline shared the inspiration behind this song that she wrote with a few friends back in 2018.

“When you’re a teenager, you kind of fall in love very easily, but then you come to realize kind of quickly that that person may not be right for you in the long run, but because you’re young and it’s kind of like that first love situation, it’s very hard to let that person go.”

When she finished writing the song, she knew that it needed that extra oomph, and figured that bringing a DJ on board to give it its current club-dance feel was just what the song needed.

“I knew right away that it kind of called for like a DJ tempo type of thing. So I held the song for like a year just to find like the right person for it, and so when I found out R3HAB was like, down to remix it, it was like perfect.”

Caroline has already collabed with R3HAB and Shawn Mendes who are chart-toppers in their own right, and she shared some of her other musical inspirations as well with the likes of Conan Gray, Kesha, Ed Sheeran, Lauv and Taylor Swift at the top of her list.

Another thing at the top of Caroline’s list is touring, which she predicts might not happen for her in 2020 due to all the world’s craziness, but fear not, Caroline shares that 2021 is going to be HER year, and we can’t agree more.

“2021 you know, that’s the year! Hopefully, I’ll get to see everybody and meet face-to-face with the people who are listening to my music cos it’s the best thing ever.”

Whether it’s in 2020, 2021, or any other time in the near future, we here at AfterBuzz know that Caroline Romano is traveling quickly on the road to stardom and we can’t wait to see more of her.
