With all the events that have transpired in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, many people have been wondering why Bhad Bhabie, born Danielle Bregoli, has been so silent. The controversial internet sensation has repeatedly been accused of cultural appropriation, and has a history of stirring up trouble and speaking her mind. However, she hasn’t used her platform to speak against police brutality nor support the Black Lives Matter movement. Although she is known for her infamous quote “Cash me outside,” no one has caught her outside at any of the Black Lives Matter protests or demonstrations. Female rapper, Chika, took to her social media to raise suspicions about the “Gucci Flip Flops” rapper’s silence.

Twitter agreed with Chika, noting that she aggressively defends her right to wear box braids and participate in other aspects of Black culture. However, her presence is nowhere to be found during events related to police brutality and the unjust murders of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd.

A day later, Bhad Bhabie broke her silence on Instagram by posting a black square, along with thousands of people who participated in the social media blackout in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Her management team revealed that she is in rehab seeking treatment for childhood trauma and prescription pill abuse. The “These Heaux” rapper has been in the facility for several weeks and plans to stay there for 30 – 90 days.

Due to how she has been treated online, the 17 year old announced on a since-deleted Instagram post, that she needed a break from social media to protect her mental health.  The “Hi Bich” rapper has since turned off her Instagram comments.

At the young age of 13, the Florida native became famous after she appeared on Dr. Phil in 2016 for stealing her mom’s credit cards and cash, along with other violent, delinquent behavior. She even challenged the “hoes” in the audience to “catch her outside”. However, due to her unique dialect, “Catch me outside” was coined as “cash me outside” along with the ending “how bout dat”.

During a second appearance on Dr. Phil, the “That’s What I Said” rapper said “I guess what’s good for you is, I made you just like Oprah made you. You were nothin’ before I came on this show.”

Now, at the age of 17, to say the “Famous” rapper has lived a long life would be an understatement. She has picked fights and thrown drinks on Iggy Azalea, been banned from Spirit Airlines after fighting passengers, repeatedly sent death threats to Disney’s Skai Jackson, and even got 20 year old rapper, NBA Youngboy, tatted on her, who is also the proud father of five kids by five different girls.

In 2017, Bhad Bhabie became the youngest female rapper ever to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which led her to signing a record deal with Atlantic Records. Her brand even expanded into a Snapchat reality show, a makeup brand, and sold-out tours.

Fans hope that Bhad Bhabie will come out of rehab stronger and healthier than ever.
